At La Citadelle, our children are our pride and our most precious asset. We believe that they are all special, that they possess hidden talents, and have an enormous potential to achieve. Moreover, we believe that it is our responsibility to tap into these talents while providing children with a substantial program in a warm, inviting environment.
At La Citadelle Daycare, we provide a positive learning environment that enhances the child’s level of development in which the children can learn with joy, enthusiasm, and determination. Through play experiences and the guidance of specially trained staff, children are introduced to situations that stimulate their curiosity, initiative and independence. These situations also provide them with a sense of self-esteem and decision-making skills. La Citadelle Daycare encourages children to interact positively and respectfully with others.
Our program is re-evaluated regularly to reflect changes within the Day Nurseries Act and the ideologies of Early Childhood Education. Throughout the year regular communication between staff, parents and the community gives us the opportunity to grow and make our program the best that it can be.
Our Child Care program is divided into two age groups: Prep-Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten, both sharing the same classroom. We have the capacity to serve a maximum of 24 Preschoolers (2 ½ – 4 years), 3 of which can be toddlers (2- 2 ½ years).
La Citadelle Daycare is a bilingual private educational institution whose goal is to offer a unique instructional and educational setting through which children learn and excel. Our program offers a highly engaging and interactive play-based environment. In our curriculum approach, we focus on creating and supporting caring relationships between children, adults and families. Our objective is to create a warm atmosphere where children feel comfortable to participate, create, share their thoughts, socialize, experiment, and have fun. Every child belongs and is welcomed, here at La Citadelle we value and celebrate the diverse nature of our classrooms.
The Daycare program maximizes the learning potential of each child. Children are seen as active participants in their environments, and are, by nature, problem solvers. Learning then is an active process in which opportunities to explore and interact with their environment are key components in a child’s growth and development.
The program staff recognizes that each child develops at their own individual pace and therefore supports each child in every step of their learning journey. Communication and expression is honoured and celebrated to create a sense of inclusion and belonging.
